  1. Instead of saying that you will not continue to use hacks, you say that if you're caught again you'll accept your ban. -1 for the hacks, -1 for the evasions, and -1 for the appeal.
  2. I don't think you've been treated unfairly. In fact, I think you've been quite fortunate. Generally when someone evades their punishment (in your case a mute) they receive a permanent punishment and the appeal is rejected. Xavier just said wait 2 more weeks to appeal. To add to your fortune, you called Xavier a coward right here on the public forums, yet you still haven't been perma-banned and he hasn't revoked his statement about applying for an appeal in 2 weeks. You have time and time again displayed toxicity and aggression toward other players and showing disrespect to the community as a whole. Being muted is just about the most nice treatment they could have given you, and giving you the option to appeal it after evading multiple times is beyond nice. The council has been very generous with your treatment thus far. Wait 2 weeks and apply for another appeal like Xavier said. Come back with a less hostile attitude and we'll all be ready to chat with you in-game again. I personally wouldn't mind getting to know you better.

It's normal. Zombie animations were not created with many frames per second.

  6. Banned for almost 2 years and you didn't attempt to evade the ban before appealing. (which is surprisingly rare.) You've apologized and admitted responsibility for using cheats. +1
  7. Idk who the hell Lucy is, but I do know Clyde. Loud and bloodthirsty, but pretty cool. I'll +1 ya if you show me some mercy every once in a while. +1
  8. That's pretty blatant cheating. -1
  9. 1st clip is pretty sus 2nd clip just looked like twitch aiming.
  10. It's a good rule of thumb that when trying to appeal a ban, don't attempt to circumvent the ban beforehand. Attempted ban evasions are a major infraction here, and will heavily weight against your odds during a ban appeal. That being said, it has been over a year and a half since your original ban. You might have learned from your past mistakes. However, for the ban evasion attempt, I'm voting Neutral.
  11. Like I said, I cannot claim to know your intentions. The circumstances around the apparent ban & evasion attempt just don't look good in your favor. This: (1mo ago) is a very vile action. DDOS is not only toxic in-game, but it is a threat to interrupt a person's personal life by shutting down their internet. For example, I am working from home right now because of COVID-19. If someone shut my internet down, I'd be sure to never let them on a server I managed ever again. A DDoS of the game server means nobody gets to play. This is still awful. This isn't just being toxic or annoying in-game, this goes way beyond that and effects people's real lives. This: (2.5mo ago) shows that you've been banned before and didn't dial back the toxicity from the punishment at that time. I cannot claim to know your intentions or your remorse, but there's starting to be a track record of yourself and your character. You've been playing here since 2018, so these might just be anomalies in an otherwise perfect record. I genuinely hope this is the case. Again, remaining neutral to give you the benefit of the doubt.
  12. If someone wants to ban evade, the first thing they try is the free option - Steam family sharing. 172 people (so far) have attempted this method to avoid bans. The last thing they try is spending $10 on a copy of Gmod and use a VPN to avoid the ban. It always seems that when things start to get tense or when the accused faces opposition, the argument of a 'friend' did ___, or I did ___ for a 'friend', etc. always comes up instead of accepting the responsibility of the ban. I don't know you, and I don't know your intent. I just know that I've seen these defense claims used as an excuse a countless times across countless platforms. Neutral
  13. I don't personally thing you've been active enough and for long enough just yet. I'd recommend getting more active in the Discord, forums, and in-game. Get to know some people and get a feel for the community. As for the English thing, don't worry about that one bit. We have all kinds of people from all over the world in our community. We're all used to it and there might even be people for you to communicate with in your native tongue. I hope we meet in-game soon! Neutral
  14. Yeah, I get that completely. My intention isn't to rush the map change. It's to address some issues about the map itself before it comes back after the map change..
  15. I made a post breaking down and addressing a lot of the issues with this map to remedy the ambiguity of my comment. If you read through it, please leave your thoughts in the comments and I can made adjustments to my list if necessary.
  16. I must first strongly emphasize that this isn't a compilation of complaints. This should be seen more as criticism. It may be possible for these issues to be addressed if it goes back into the rotation in a few months or something. Some of these may be obvious or common points, some may not. Some might be remedied, some may permanent. Some of these are subjective, some of these are objective. Some of these are map related, some of these involve the map and the gametype. The Ocean - ~50% of the map is taken up by water. Guns don't work underwater, so if you come across a player in the ocean its a knife fight to the death. There is nothing out there except for a boat and buoys. The Ambience - The ambient noise on this map is nearly deafening and it sometimes appears to stack the audio scripts. I have had the ambient noise get loud enough on several occasions that I was unable to hear footsteps from other players. The ambient noises also seem strange for this game type. Ambulances, police cars, dogs, loud cars, etc. don't make sense in a post-apocalyptic setting. I understand that this is just a product of the way the map was designed and isn't something that was done by choice, but it is still noteworthy. The AI Mapping - The AI on this map tend to bug out quite frequently. The most common issues I have found are zombies despawning as soon as they enter aggro proximity, or zombies stuck in place. It is also common for players to (intentionally or unintentionally) kite the zombies to the ocean where they stay and become useless. Zombies also only appear on the streets and the boat (which are broken at the moment) instead of more challenging and common play areas like sewers, basements, houses, apartments, etc. This makes the zombies incredibly easy to avoid and nearly nullifies their purpose. Draw Distance Issues - With enough distance, windows on this map become covered by a plain texture that cannot be seen through and allow for (intentional or unintentional) exploitation. It has also been seen that with enough distance, cover such as bushes or trees disappear and you become vulnerable to snipers as if you had no cover at all. The draw distance of the AI are much lower than that of a player character. This makes it much easier to identify players from a distance and eliminates the possibility of firing on a zombie instead. This contributes to the point I made earlier about nullifying the purpose of the zombies. The Daytime Aspect - Having this map take place during the day seems to take away from the experience for me. A sunshine city with neon signs, a dance club, and fully lit shops all around the map makes this feel like it should have been exclusively an RP map instead of a post-apocalyptic DayZ map. A darker version of the map would be better suited, but some aspects may still feel too bright and lively. Item Nodes - Items on this map have been placed in very predictable locations and encourage indoor gameplay when gathering items. There aren't many item spawn nodes in open areas. Some that I can think of are around the cars by the southeast beach warehouse, hot dog stands, and maybe dumpsters, but those are generally in fenced areas. It may be beneficial to add spawn nodes on top of buildings, on streets, sidewalks, etc. This issue can mostly be contributed to the fact that this map was clearly designed more toward indoor playing which I will address. The Indoor Issue - This map does not seem to be suited toward gametypes such as this. Having most of the play area be indoors or on rooftops and the majority of item spawns being inside of buildings encourages camping and staying inside of buildings and leaves little incentive for open world play since leaving your building means a likely death from someone sitting on a rooftop or camping from a window. There are too many windows and rooftops across the map that allow players to set up and snipe at players playing on the streets. This also contributes to a lot of spawn killing since most of the spawns are in open areas. A map with open fields and limited high points would be greatly beneficial for balancing gameplay. I would greatly appreciate any feedback, additions to the list, disagreements, or suggestions. With Southside being rotated out soon, there may be time to address some of these quirks and issues before it comes back in the rotation. If there's a good enough consensus, we can prioritize these items and hopefully have the more major ones addressed.
  17. NEPOTISM! Kidding. I haven't had any interactions that I can recall with Pancake, so I'm obliged to be nuetral. I look forward to playing with him in-game though.
  18. I wouldn't say that the map is now a problem. I would say that there are many issues with the map that are starting to cause concern for some players, though. I am also in favor of a map swap. Lastly, I too greatly appreciate the time and effort that goes into developing and maintaining the server.
  19. +1 I'll refrain from my normal giant paragraphs of pros and cons this time. 🙂
  20. A feature to squelch a player's text chat would be awesome. You can currently go to the player list and mute them from there, but that only mutes voice chat. I just watched a guy fill my console with chat with no way to make his chat disappear. Having this feature would be useful for players that want to cut out the flamers, the people spamming chat, or people speaking in languages they can't read. It would also potentially lessen the work of the admins from people (like myself) @'ing admins to request a silence.
  21. Fresh spawns still start with knives. Also; I once came across a fresh spawn and gave him a gun, scrolls, medkits, etc. We hung our for a couple minutes. Cool guy... As soon as he found some ammo, he turned around and popped me in the back of the head. Now I have trust issues..
  22. There's a lot of cool people here. I'm glad I stumbled onto this server. You've killed me a lot. We'd have a better chance to talk if you weren't so bloodthirsty. 🙂 I'm pretty active in the Discord and always down to talk. My heart is still broken from the merciless slaughter the other day. 💔 I am definitely enjoying my time here. This feels much more like a community than most others would. Especially with the combination of an active website and Discord server. Its easy to get to know people, and I greatly respect the transparency given by staff from everything to development to the ban logs. It feels more like a community than it does a clique. That's hard to find these days. It reminds me of guilds I used to be involved with back in my WoW days. The involvement from the staff and community as a whole feels unparalleled with the gaming atmosphere these days. I would have teamed up with you by now, but its way too tempting to shoot Sheik in the head. It's not personal, I just have PTSD from my SSBM days. I see a Sheik and I panic. I look forward to getting over my fears and teaming up with you in the future.

  24. Player Name: Fehnraal Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:52276170 Discord username: Fehnraal#0962 Age: 25 Which server do you play the most: CSi DayZ server How long have you been playing on our server(s): Several weeks now. I cannot give an exact time, unfortunately. I'm on pretty much as soon as I get off work and on and off throughout the weekend. Have you ever been banned? If so, tell us why: No bans or warns. I steer clear of toxicity as much as I can. What are you able to bring to the CSi community: My job outside of Gmod revolves around quality control and assurance. I'm a data technician, so I am no stranger to code and attention to detail. I am tech savvy and learn quickly, which may be useful outside of gameplay. I am usually pretty active as much as I can be. I have a wife and a 1 year old daughter, so I often spend time with them, of course. I'm a very laid back person and can handle quite a lot of stress, especially now that I'm working at home during this COVID-19 chaos. I have a lot of relaxation time. Who (if anyone) referred you to apply: Nobody specifically. Any other information you want to include is welcome: I have basic Python skills due to the nature of my career, basic AWS cloud knowledge, and a lot of hands-on work with large databases and data analysis. I understand that my time on this server hasn't been very long yet, but I've spent more time on this server now than I have anything else. Though it may be likely that I am rejected on that sole principle, I would fault myself if I didn't at least make the attempt.
