  1. I must have had a good reason back then, but seeing as I didn't include a reason and I'm too lazy to look at the logs, I'll go ahead and remove this ban. Please make sure to read and understand the rules before joining the server again

  2. Many people have come and gone, things have undoubtedly changed since the day I first turned the server on without any expectations, went to take a shower and came back to a full server without having done any advertising. My life would be so much different had it not been for all the amazing people I've met over the years. To those who are still around: I love you.

Emotional shit aside, I'm proud to **finally** announce the arrival of GMODZ's European server! The EU server is currently hosting SouthSide while the US server remains on Chern for the time being. The weekly map rotation will become active near the end of January. Please note that everything except your current backpack synchronizes between the maps! This means that you can transfer items between the two servers by putting them in your bank.

I am currently in Canada until January 9 and will be starting a full-time coding bootcamp starting Jan. 11th, so my time for the next 2-3 months will be rather scarce (as is often the case as an adult.. I sadly can't play the game 8 hours a day and code for another 8 every day like I used to..) but content will continue to come into the game thanks to the help of our community managers!

You may connect to the GMODZ servers using the following links (don't forget to add the servers to your favourites!):
    EU-1 (France):  steam://connect/fra.csiservers.com/
    US-1 (Dallas): steam://connect/gmdz.csiservers.com/

Additionally, there is now a server status indicator bot on our Discord server! Check out the #server-status channel. If you aren't already part of our discord server, click here to join! https://csiservers.com/discord

Seeing as the new year is right around the corner, one of my new year's resolutions is to increase my interaction within the community, so you can expect me to be more active on discord and the forums as well as potentially in-game as well!

Here's to many more years 🥂

  3. I have nothing against you making another appeal. The main reason I'm denying this one is because you really need to be more patient. Waiting patiently shouldn't be that hard, but you had to post 4 replies in a row in the span of 4 hours (and insulted me in the process). My best suggestion is for you to keep a close eye on your temper and don't take things so personal so quickly.

  4. Considering the fact that you were given multiple chances and still continued to go out of your way to tease players by bypassing your mute by changing your name, I'm going to deny this request. Please wait two weeks before appealing again.

  5. Hello everyone!

Previously, we only had two tiers of staff hierarchy; council members and administrators. Without going into too much detail, my philosophy has always been you either trust someone or you don't. As of late, I don't have as much time to dedicate on playing on our servers as much as I used to when I was a young teenager. This means I don't have time to build trust in most staff applicants, and consequently don't have time to manage every aspect of the community either. In order to lighten the load on myself, a change in staff structure was desperately needed. This is something I have been considering for a long time now, but am only getting around to it now.

Some of you may have noticed the newly-titled Community Managers on the forums as well as Discord! This new rank has been attributed to @phoon , @George and @Rolchax. We will also be also slowly introducing the Moderator rank.

The role of a community manager isn't very different from that of an administrator. They don't have any special rights on the servers that administrators don't have and no, they still can't spawn any items on any of our servers which is a feature restricted solely to developers in order to maintain the economy's integrity. Where community managers differ from administrators is that community managers each have a loosely dedicated role. For example: George is primarily in charge of the forums and applications, Phoon is in charge of gameplay / feedback and Rolchax is in charge of community interaction. Note that while they have these "roles" in place, they are more of a guide than anything. Every community manager is capable of and has the right to perform any duty as they see fit. They will also be the go-to mentors for staff in training.

The role of a moderator differs greatly from an administrator. Following the principle of least privilege, moderators will serve to act as a trustworthy figure to the rest of the community while being the first point of contact for any disputes. Moderators will have the ability to mute, kick, temporarily ban players in-game as well as perform basic moderation tasks on the forums.

  6. Seeing as there's no official stance on this and quite a few people have been asking, I figured I would write up about it

Donating in exchange for in-game currency is a bit of a gray area, but it is not against the rules. While it is permitted, please keep in mind that it is not something we endorse and that this type of trade comes with no warranty whatsoever. If you get scammed, you're on your own. If you do somehow end up getting scammed, the outcome will be up to the discretion of the staff member who handles it. However, do keep in mind that we are unable to return any lost items regardless of the situation.

Because of that, here are a few important things to consider and to keep in mind if you plan on performing such a trade:

    1. Perform the trade with a trusted middleman to make sure you do not get scammed (Council member, Developer or Administrator). This middleman will act as a trustee to ensure both parties of the trade respect their end of the deal. It should play out as the following:
      1. Person A gives the in-game items to the middleman
      2. The middleman shows these items to person B, who can confirm or deny whether he agrees with the trade
      3. If person B denies the trade offer, they can either negotiate with person A or the middleman will return the items to person A
      4. If person B accepts the trade offer, they may proceed with the payment. They will need to input Person A's Steam ID on the donation page. This can be found by using the status console command.
      5. Once the payment has been successfully processed on person A's account, the middleman hands the items over to person B
      6. However, if person B does not proceed with the payment, the middleman can safely return the items to person A
    2. Make sure the person donating is someone that is trustworthy or a well-established member in the community.
      • If the person who made the purchase initiates a chargeback with their credit card company not only will they be permanently banned but additionally, any donation benefits will be revoked from your account. Items traded will not be refunded either, as that would become a logistical nightmare.

Additionally, you may use this thread as a means to advertise your desire to trade.

  7. It is very disheartening to see a familiar name get caught doing something like this. Where is the enjoyment in it? You should have been well aware of our lack of tolerance for such things by now, having spent several hours playing on the server.

Although this ban appeal seems sincere on the surface, your true intentions were revealed the moment you denied it talking with Phoon.

As it would be unfair to other players to even consider this in the first place, I'm going to deny this appeal. You may re-attempt at a later date if you so desire.

  8. Hello everyone, today sees an update to GMODZ!

I will be posting updates as I code them to the GMODZ Devlogs channel in our discord server: https://csiservers.com/discord

Make sure to follow that channel to be aware of updates before they go live!

    - Fixed random loot spawns in the middle of the road
    - Added loot to a building that had not been set up

    pzEsZX.png

    - Added item: Flare
Single-use item that attracts an airdrop. Limited to once every 5 minutes. Cannot have more than one airdrop active at a time.

This item spawns as part of the weapons loot category and is available in both the world and airdrops
    2yLPX5.png

    - Made grenades spawn in the world rather than airdrops only
    - Added "/donate, !donate" commands
    - Added "/drop !drop /inv !inv /inventory !inventory" commands for those who don't know how to use the Q button
    - Increased jerry can explosion radius
    - Fixed background color on "Withdraw X" & other alike UIs
    - Fixed server crash
    - Removed loud safezone songs

    - Added ability to call airdrop with in-game money (25K) and credits (450) available from the safezone NPC
    - Restructured safezone NPC menu and added donate button to be more visible(I had been covering server costs of around  personally for a little over a year and accumulated a significant credit card debt because of this, so every little bit helps ❤️ FYI- We rent two dedicated servers to host all of our infrastructure for a total of $270/month. That's just the cost of hosting, but we also pay for software licenses)
    - Added ability to purchase credits directly from the store. This works the same way as membership packages, and the total does count towards obtaining VIP and gold. For example, two $5 donations will unlock VIP for your account. View it over at https://csiservers.com/donate

    - Fix admins sometimes falling to their deaths when reconnecting after having disconnected in spectator mode
    - Temporarily removed pilot's license perk from the shop until the skybox gets fixed
    - Increased amount of zombies when the server is full
    - Fix "Q" opening up the inventory instead of "A" on AZERTY keyboard layouts
    - Added "Delicate Fingers" perk: 30% quieter when looting bags, 70% quieter when picking up world items

  9. You are unfortunately not entitled to a refund as your account has been suspended for being in violation of our ToS. I understand you may be a little heated right now and I would appreciate if you took a few moments to come back to your senses. Insulting our staff and/or community members is a very immature thing to do.

Making a gamemode and players don't like some part of it and not changing what the players don't like won't help with getting more players.

We're not ignoring any issues that are actual problems. I'm not sure what you're basing these claims off of?

You shouldn't make games the way you would want to play them you should make them appeal to the people that will play them

If I wanted to make a product with the sole intent of profiting, this is what I would do. However, you clearly missed the entire point of my rant which goes against that.
